DAY 6 | Pray for Our Pastors and Spiritual Leaders

Minister Kristina Jenkins

WORD OF FAITH | SOUTHFIELD, MI

Welcome back to 30 days of prayer. I am Minister Kristina Jenkins and today we are going to pray for our pastors and spiritual leaders. I want to read to you today from Colossians chapter 4, verse 12, and it says, “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Did you know that spiritual leadership is actually God’s idea? In Jeremiah, the Word of God says, “And I will give you pastors after my own heart that will teach you and feed you with knowledge and understanding.” And not only that, He has also given us, as the body of Christ, the responsibility to uphold the arms of our spiritual leadership.

The great thing about that is not only is it beneficial for us to lift up our pastors and spiritual leaders because we love them and care for them, but it even actually comes around and benefits us because as we continue to pray for them fervently on a regular basis, it assists them in carrying out what God has called them to do, which as we just read particularly regarding our pastors is to help make sure we are taught wisdom and understanding and that the pastor’s heart is aligned with the heart of God. And so today I want to admonish and encourage you. I would encourage you as well to read in Ephesians chapter 1, verse 16-21 before we pray today so that you know and understand that God has given us a supply of the Spirit that we are able to pray for our leaders in English and in other tongues, and pray for them that they will fulfill the will of God - that they would walk worthy of the vocation wherewith they are called - that they would be rooted and grounded in love and that they would come to understand the height, and the breadth, and the depth of the love of Jesus Christ, along with us all saints because that helps all of us to be effective in what God has called us to do. And as we lift up our spiritual leadership today, do it boldly, do it fervently knowing that you have been assigned and equipped to do so, and that as a result of your prayer, our pastors and our spiritual leadership will be able to fulfill the plan of God for their lives helping us to fulfill the plan of God for ours.
