My name is Pastor Lee Ferguson and we are going to be talking about praying for a spiritual awakening across the world. In Acts chapter 4, reading from verse 29, it reads, “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.” So, if you are like me and pay attention to cardinal affairs, you can tell that we are living in the book of second Timothy where it says that perilous times shall come. We are literally living in perilous times right now. As I speak, there are news reports of terrorist attacks against the nation of Israel and hundreds of people being killed by the terrorist attacks. We see terrible reports about shootings in our schools and the educational system of how they are trying to indoctrinate our children into perverted topics and conversations. The church is under attack, under siege every single day. The persecution of the Christians is happening every single day. We are living in perilous times. The enemy has engaged war against the body of Christ. The enemy has engaged war against God. We know that he cannot win. He has already lost his battle. He can never win against the body of Christ. He can never win against God. But we are here on earth living through these perilous times. We are living out the Scripture. It’s important to understand that the only way that we can stay secure and have that true foundation of peace and safety is when we spend time in prayer, and spend time in His Word. The only sure foundation that we have is when we are in presence of God. We see what is going on around us. We see what is happening in our news. We can see what is happening in our society and our community, and our world. But I want to encourage you not to focus your mind on what you are seeing but to pray for the spiritual awakening to hit, not just this nation, but the whole world - the spiritual awakening, the power of God to infiltrate our community, infiltrate our city, infiltrate our world - that the power of God, the miracle works of God may be fulfilled and be seen in the lives of people. When you think about your life and think about the people around you, I want you to think about and put your mind in and focus on praying for a spiritual awakening to happen in your family, happen in your household, happen in your church, happen in your schools, happen in college and your workplace - for the power of the Holy Spirit to infiltrate our society so that we can see the blind eyes being opened, the deaf ears being opened, the people that can’t walk and are in wheelchairs, they can jump out of the wheelchairs. The world needs to see the power of God. That is only going to be manifested when we spent time in prayer and spend time in the presence of Lord and asking Him to avail Himself to the world - that the power of God may be fulfilled. We desperately need a spiritual awakening. We are living in a time now where the world is desperate for a move of the Holy Spirit. We are prime. We are ready for the Lord to really manifest His power in this world. So don’t worry about what you’re seeing. Don’t focus your mind on what you are hearing. But pray the Scripture. Pray that the Lord will infiltrate the world with His power and that there will be a spiritual awakening in our nation and in our world, in Jesus’ name.
