DAY 5 | Pray For Those Dealing with Grief

PASTOR GEORGE RIGOS

SENIOR PASTOR | KENTRO PISTIS | ATHENS GREECE

Hi. Welcome to another day of this journey of 30 days of prayer. It’s so good to have you with us and it is an honor for me to be here with you. I know that this is just going to be an amazing time where we are gathering together and just praying. So I encourage you to finish the course and to see it out. My name is Pastor George Rigos. I am the KBM European Director, and I am also the Pastor of our church here inAthens, Greece called Kentro Pistis.

Today I want to talk to you about grief and we want to pray for those people who are going through grief.I looked at what grief is and it says:“a pain of mind produced by loss.”It also says:“It is misfortune—the pain of mind produced by injury or evils of any kind, and sorrow greatened.”In these days, there are a lot of people who are going through grief and we want to pray for them today. We want to pray they seethe light—that they hope in Jesus because Jesus is the hope—that they know who God is and that their yesterday and what they have been through will not define their tomorrow and that they are able to overcome and get through whatever loss, whatever pain, whatever misfortune, whatever evil they have suffered.

Grieving is not a bad thing; it is a good thing. But you don’t want to stay there. You want to push through. In 2Corinthians chapter 1, verse 3it says,“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, theFather of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted ofGod.”Your prayer is comforting today. Your prayer for those going through grief is comforting because in these times there are many people who are suffering, and who have gone through loss and misfortune. But praise God, our hope is in Him. It also says,“For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.”Our hope is in Christ.

So today, as you pray, pray for the comfort of those going through grief. If you are going through grief yourself, look to the Lord. Look to Him, for He is your help. He is your peace. He is your God. He is your everything. God bless you.
