Hello, my name is Pastor Ronald Walker. I send greetings from Word of Faith St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. I want to welcome you to 30 days of prayer. I know you're excited about what God is going to do in these 30 days that will impact the rest of the year. Well, today our assignment is to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and we do that by taking our seat of authority as watchmen on the wall. Understand, we know Jerusalem is the center of the world. We know that because God says in Ezekiel chapter 5 verse 5. He says, “Thus saith the Lord God; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.” See God is emphasizing Jerusalem’s central geographic and spiritual importance. Listen, it has been said whatever happens in Israel will determine the state of the world. That's why every time you turn around there's something in the headlines about Israel and Jerusalem. That's because Israel is at the epic center of the war between good and evil and peace and terror. So whatever happens in Israel and Jerusalem is bound to affect the rest of the world. Now, God, also speaking of Jerusalem in Jeremiah 3:17 - He says, “At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem:” He said Jerusalem will become the center of God's rule. This is why praying for the peace of Jerusalem is so important because why? This city is so important to God. Matter of fact it's so important that He commands us in Psalms 122 verse 6 through 8. He says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Then it says, “Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” Listen when we pray for Jerusalem, we're praying for ourselves. See those who love Jerusalem and pray for her peace, bring peace, security and prosperity upon themselves. Then He says even for the sake of my loved ones - He says, “For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.” So declare peace be within the walls of Jerusalem. Then He says even for the sake of the house of the Lord - in verse 9 He says, “Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.” So it's important as a church to seek only good for Jerusalem. Now we see the same admonishment in Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 7 where it says, “And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” That city is Jerusalem folks. He says, “Pray unto the Lord for Jerusalem,” and when you do there's a reciprocal effect. When you pray for Jerusalem’s peace - listen you'll have peace. You'll find peace. Pray for Jerusalem because why? If we can heal the heart of the world, the rest of the body will follow. Heal Jerusalem and we'll heal the world. Let's pray and you have a blessed victorious day in the Lord.
