Pastor Joel Jenkins | Word of Faith, Southfield, MI

What's up you all? I'm Joel Jenkins. I'm one of the pastors on staff here at Word of Faith, and today is day 27, and we'll be talking about praying for our church. You know, it's so important for us to pray for our church because this is where we grow together, this is where we have community, this is where we have fellowship. You know, I'm reminded of the Scripture that tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves. It's so important for us to have a safe space to be able to grow. I'm reminded of the scripture that says iron sharpens iron. Not big iron only sharpens a little iron, not the old iron only sharpens the young, but it actually goes both ways and it's so important for us to understand the importance of the church. I'm also reminded of in Genesis where God talks about it's not good for man to be alone. God placed the church here not just for Him but mainly for us, and so it's so important for us to value and protect the things that He's put in place for us. So we need to make sure that we're praying for the protection of the church. You know, people are trying to come against it. Not long ago there was a fire not far from here where someone set ablaze a church in Grand Blanc. It's so important for us to understand that we need to protect what God has given us for us to benefit from, and so with today, I just want to encourage you for day 27, make sure that you're praying for your church. Pray for the leaders. Pray for the parishioners. Pray that the good news is able to be spread because of the church, but most importantly, just pray for our church. We'll see you tomorrow. God bless.
