Hello, my name is Jean Kinuthia, Pastor of Faith for Life Church Nairobi, Kenya. Welcome to day 23 of our 30 days of prayer. Today, we pray for Christians to discover and complete their assignment. In Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 1, it is written, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,” Certainly, there's a call, a general call for all Christians, but the Lord also has a specific call for us. Actually, the Apostle Paul also writes in 1 Corinthians chapter 3 and verse 10, “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder.” He's talking specifically of God's grace over his life and God has a specific call for every Christian and today we want to pray that that is discovered. I've heard it say, “I have this passion and that must be my calling,” or “I am great at doing this and that must be what God's called me to do,” or “my education or my business. I'm great at that and that has to be my calling,” but remember in the scripture with the Apostle Paul again that his education and his training was to be a Pharisee, a religious leader of the nation of Israel, but what did God call him to do? He was called to be a minister to the Gentiles and so we can see that his passion, which was for Israel to be saved, was different from what the Lord had called him to do. Think about the Apostle Peter - his business, he was a great fisher, but his calling was different. Jesus said, “Come and I will make you fishers of men.” That was his assignment and so how do we find out what our calling is and what our assignment is? In first Corinthians chapter 12 all the way down there in verse number 28, we see the Scripture lists gifts and it says at the end of the verse, “helps government's diversities of tongues.” That word diversities is a Greek word genos, which means born of, it means offspring of and as our Bishop teaches us that all these gifts are born out of tongues, diversities of tongues and so when we pray in the Holy Ghost, the Lord reveals to us because these gifts are going to be birthed. So let's pray that we discover what we're called to do, but not only discover it, but complete that assignment. It's not going to be by your power, it's not going to be by your might, it will be by the Spirit of God. So let's pray in Jesus name.
