Welcome to day two of 30 days of prayer. I'm so glad we've got started on this process. My name is Timothy Ramsey and I'm the senior pastor here at the Place of Grace in the United Kingdom. We are praying today for strong families and marriages. Do you know that marriage and family is God's idea? Right in the first book of the bible, in the first chapter we see God speaking of creation - that He would create families in His own image - male and female He created them. Then in Genesis chapter 1, verse 28, we see that God gives this family a mandate, a mission: to be fruitful and replenish the earth, subdue it, have dominion and I believe that God wanted to create a principle that family would spread throughout all the world from the Garden of Eden. God loves family. He loves marriages. In Malachi chapter 2, we find God rebuking Israel for their idolatrous ways and one of the things that had come out of their idolatry is that they had started to take foreign wives. One of the things that He makes note of is that when you married the wife of your youth I was there in the covenant. This is why we have to pray for marriages. It is God's idea. He goes on to say that He hates divorces and that they shouldn't deal treacherously with the wives of their youth. One of the things that He does say is. “I brought man and wife together so that they could produce godly offspring.” So family born out of a healthy whole godly marriage and union is what God desired for the earth. This is why we must pray. We must pray against the spirit of divorce. We must pray against the spirit of division. We must pray that the love of God overshadows and overwhelms our families and we raise our children in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord. So please take some time to pray for families today. Pray for marriages - pray for your marriage and we want to see God's will and His Word work in and through you today. Be blessed.
