DAY 15 | Pray For Unity and Fellowship Among Believers

PASTOR RONALD WALKER

SENIOR PASTOR | WORD OF FAITH | VIRGIN ISLANDS

Hello. I am Pastor Ronald Walker, here at Word of Faith, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Today’s topic of prayer is unity and fellowship amongst believers, which is something that is near and dear to the heart ofGod. Why? Because God knows the power of unity; God knows the power of fellowship. God specifically tells us in His Word inPsalm 133:1—notice what He says here,“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”And even Jesus said Himself inJohn chapter 17, verses 22 and23, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one...”What is He saying here? He said we are made perfect when we are one. That’s why Jesus prayed this prayer to the Father because His desire is for us to be in unity and in fellowship, and be as one. We see the power of unity and fellowship throughout the book of Acts. We see time and time again—these two words that we always see—they were all in one accord.

Let’s look atActs chapter 1, verse 14where it says,“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”But notice that it says they were in one accord in prayer. Then inActs chapter 2, verse 46 and 47, it says,“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”What were they doing? They were having fellowship. They were praisingGod, it says, and having favor with all the people. Then notice what the Lord did:“And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”And then finally inActs chapter 4, verse 24 and verse 31, it says,“And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is...”And then it says in verse 31,“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”Why? Because when we come together in fellowship and unity, is when the power of God shows up.

So we are expecting the power of God to show up during this month of prayer. So continue to pray, pray, pray and pray for unity and fellowship.
