Praise God. Welcome to 30 days of prayer. Prayer is extremely necessary. We have a lease in the earth for the time being. If you know anything about leases, you will know this— that the lessee has rights and the owner can't come in unless invited by the lessee until that lease is up. It is the same thing with prayer. God gave man a lease on this planet, gave us authority, and He wants us to invite Him to come in. So we do it with prayer. And these 30 days are very important to make a way in the earth for God's plan to move. Of course, this is a year of a fresh start and new beginnings. The Word says in Isaiah 43, verse 19, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” This is an election year. So in particular, we need to pray for those who are in authority. We need to pray that godly men and women - House of Representatives and one third of the Senate, in particular - people will come into these wonderful places with a heart for God and understanding of the Word and having the ability and boldness to stand for God during this particular time. So we want to pray, first of all, for those in authority because it is necessary, as the Word tells in Timothy, so that we can lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. God said this is good and acceptable in His sight, that all men will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Government's got something to do with that. Finally, one other thing about government - of course, I was talking about our own land, but also for the world, for Israel and other places, where God is moving. Christian persecution has happened. We need God's power to move and to help our planet. Thank you for agreeing to spend 30 days with us and we'll begin today in the name of Jesus.
