Day 25 - Pray for Your Desires
Pastor Reginald Hurns
Youth Pastor FAITH CHRISTIAN CENTER AUSTELL, GA
Hi. Welcome to day 25 of 30 days of prayer. I am Reggie Hurns, youth pastor here at the Faith Christian in Austell, Georgia I would like to talk to you briefly on the topic of praying for your desires. In Psalm 37:4 we find these words, “Take delight in the Lord and He will give your hearts desires.” So basically, God will put stuff up in your heart: dreams, and visions, and goals and plans that He wants you to bring to pass because God’s plan was always for mankind to make the earth look like heaven. And so, God’s way of doing it was through divine revelation and as we spend time with Him, as we honor Him, as we give Him thanks and praise for His way, He will show us the path that He actually wants us to take.
So as we spend time in prayer, in praise - as we spend time going after God - as He speaks things to us, it is important for us to hold onto these things and to treasure these things. Write it down as you go throughout the day and pray on it. Up in Mark chapter 11, verse 24, it tells us that when we pray - so that as we are praying over these things we are to speak them back onto God. “God we thank you, dear God, that we are the head and not the tail, above not below. Thank you dear God that we are free, we are the healed, we are the blessed.” As we are praying and as we are doing that, stay in that place and pray expectations. So on this morning, I just want to encourage you - Jeremiah 29:11 - God has a good and pleasing and perfect will for you that is so much greater, so much beyond your wildest imagination and it goes from glory to glory to glory to glory. It doesn’t matter if you are 10, 20, 30 or 60 - it goes from glory to glory. It gets better. It gets greater and it is still all within God’s plan.
I want to just encourage you. God still has a plan. It is still to give you hope in your future that it doesn’t matter how things look, it is still yes and amen. Your latter is still greater than the former and your best days are still ahead of you.
