Day 16 - Pray for Generational Unity
Minister Frank Davis
WORD OF FAITH SOUTHFIELD, MI
Hey. It’s another day of 30 days of prayer. I am Minister Frank Davis and I am excited about today’s topic. First Timothy chapter 4, verse 12 says, “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” I love how this Scripture starts off by saying, “Let no man despise thy youth.” The Amplified says, “Don’t let anybody look down on you just because you are young.” Unfortunately, there are some people who look down on the youth and they think just because they are young they don’t know anything and it is unfortunate because as the younger generation, we need guidance, we need examples in how to avoid the pitfalls and mistakes that were previously made by others. But when we are looked down upon, we tend to ignore and often times disrespect the older generation.
I love this Scripture because it puts the ball back in your court. It is truly an inspiring and empowering Scripture. It tells us that instead of looking for an example, be the example. We can be the example that people are looking for. We can be leaders in our generation and go to the Word of God and show others how to speak, how to walk in love, how to live by faith. We can be the example to our peers in how to respect those who come before us. We can be the example to the older generation in how to effectively communicate to the younger. So let’s pray today that the Holy Spirit will give us wisdom and understanding so we don’t have to look for an example. We can be the example. God bless.
