DAY 26 - Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Hey. Welcome to 30 days of prayer. My name is Minister Frank Davis and I hope that you are enjoying this 30 days of prayer. We have been having an awesome time praying for a number of things and today is no different. Today we are going to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. In the book of Psalms, chapter 122, verse 6-9, it says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.” You know, this passage starts off with a commandment from God that says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” And then He follows that up immediately by saying, “They shall prosper that love thee.” Any time that you love somebody, I think that you should pray for them. God says, “When you do that, you will have prosperity.” We see this in another passage in Genesis where God is talking to Abraham and He says, “I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee.” And if you look at that word ‘bless,’ in its most simplest form it means to say something good about. And if you pray for the peace of Jerusalem, by default you are saying something good about them. So when you do that, God says, “I will bless you. I will prosper you.” But the Scripture goes on to say in Psalms, “Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” And so, not only will God bless you – not only will you have prosperity, but you too will have peace. You will have the very thing that you are praying for the Israelites to have. And so, as we embark on this day of 30 days of prayer, let’s remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. If you look at this in the natural, Israel is surrounded by their enemies who are ready to attack them at any moment. And so, we need to make sure that today we pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We need to pray that the peace of God keeps their hearts and their minds, and they have complete understanding that God is going to have their back and that God is going to protect them. We need to pray for their peace and not only will we have peace as well, but we will have prosperity and God will bless us. So as we pray today, remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
