DAY 26 - Pray For Asia

DAY 26 - Pray For Asia

Minister Linda Burdette

Word of Faith

Southfield, MI

Hello. My name is Linda Burdette and today our prayer focus centers on Asia.

Jesus tells us in Mark chapter 16, verse 15 to go into all the world and to preach

the Gospel to every creature. Well, all of the world today consists of 7.9 billion

people and of that number 4.7 billion people reside in the continent of Asia and

that is a continent that we are praying for today. Now, I know that when we think

of Asia we generally think of China; we think of Japan and maybe Malaysia and

Indonesia. But what we don’t realize is that Asia encompasses more countries

than that. It encompasses India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, and a host of other

countries. So when you think about those countries that I just mentioned, you can

see that is a boatload of people. In fact, in the continent of Asia, we have 59% of

the world population. And in that region, only 9% are Christian. So that means

that 90% of the people who reside in Asia are not born again and that means if

they do not have the opportunity to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior from hearing

the Gospel preached to them in a way that they can receive it, then they may just

not make heaven their home and we, as a church, have to do something about it.

Well, what can we do? We can pray. We can pray for the government officials in

those countries. We can pray for them to become born-again and filled with the

Holy Spirit because you know, as the leaders go, so goes the country. We can

also pray for the people that God will remove the blinders from their eyes and

that they can see their need for a Savior and recognize that Jesus is the only

way to God. We can pray for the persecuted church in those areas that God will

protect them - that He will shield them from all harm or danger - that He will

strengthen them. And we can pray that God will deliver them from wicked and

perverse people who would try and persecute them for their faith. Ladies and

gentlemen, you and I have a big job today. Our job is to pray for the people in the

continent of Asia and I believe as we pray today, God will continue to move by His

Spirit in that region and men and women, boys and girls will be born again as a

result of the time that you commit to pray for those people. So why don’t you pray

with me today? Thank you.
