Day 2 - Pray for Protection

Hi. We are going to talk about God’s protection today and it is going to take us straight today to Psalms 91. “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” We know that this word ‘abide’ means to live in, to settle down in, to take up residence in. It is not a drive-by. In other words, it doesn’t mean to visit. It means to stay there and wait on the Lord. Amen. And when you wait on the Lord, He will provide the refuge. He will provide the stability. He will provide the protection and all the stability that we need when we are going through storms. And then of course, we have Psalms 23, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” It doesn’t say that He is going to be the Shepherd. It doesn’t say that He used to be the Shepherd. It doesn’t say that He is auditioning to be the Shepherd. He says that He is the Shepherd. And as we know, what a shepherd does – what does a shepherd do? The Good Shepherd cares for the sheep. God cares for us, protects us from all hurt, harm, danger, hurricanes and anything else that comes. Whatever your lot in life is, when you go to God and trust in Him – Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Isaiah 54:17 says that no weapon formed against us is going to prosper. Why? Because we have a Good Shepherd and because we are in the secret place of the Most High and God’s providing the protection, the stability, the refuge that we need.
