Hello. My name is Jean Kinuthia, Senior Pastor at Faith4Life Church, Nairobi,

Kenya. Welcome to day 2 of 30 days of prayer. Our focus today is pray for direction

regarding God’s purpose. In the world, there are many programs and courses that

have been developed to get people to know their purpose. But if you want God’s

direction regarding your purpose, you will have to speak to God. In Ephesians

chapter 1, verse 18, the Apostle Paul prays that, “The eyes of your understanding

being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the

riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.” That prayer is an excellent place

for you to start in inquiring of the Lord regarding His direction for His purpose in

your life. Pray in the understanding; pray much in the Spirit. But you see, for the

eyes of your understanding to be enlightened, you will have to spend time in the

Word of God - reading the Word, studying the Word of God, meditating on it, and

speaking the Word. And so, you will not only be praying, but you will be reading

the Word and you will receive direction regarding your purpose and it gets clearer

and clearer. But you don’t only want to know what your purpose is, pray also that

you will fulfill it. In second Timothy, chapter 4, verse 7, the Apostle Paul writes, “I

have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” We don’t

want to fulfill our purposes based on our own strength, but we want to be like

the Apostle Paul that we will be able to fight that good fight and finish the course

because we kept the faith. To fulfill your purpose, you will have to keep your faith

in God. Trust Him for what He has called you to do. Your faith in God will enable

you to have victory. Ask Him also for wisdom according to James chapter 1, verse

5. Wisdom will help you correctly apply the knowledge that God has given you.

Wisdom will give you God’s method in how He wants you to fulfill His purpose.

It will give you His direction and His insight. And so, this great big plan that God

has for your life hangs on your daily obedience. You have an opportunity in our 30

days of prayer to obey God. And so let’s pray together diligently in these 30 days.

Praise the Lord.
