DAY 15 - Pray For a Greater Manifestation of the Gifts of the Spirit
Pastor Ray McClintock
Word of Faith Southfield, MI
Hello. Welcome today 15 of Word of Faith’s 30 days of prayer. I am Pastor Ray McClintock from the headquarters church here in Southfield, Michigan. We have heard our Bishop for years tell us that every success is a prayer success first. And that, of course, is the same with our topic for today which is praying for greater manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. This greater manifestation begins with us, members of the body of Christ, and as individual persons. During our church services here in Southfield, it’s common to witness a manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, with tongues, interpretation of tongues, as well as simple prophecy. We say after each occurrence that what you just witnessed was according to first Corinthians chapter 12 and 14. We will look at three verses in chapter 12 today – verse 1, verse 7 and verse 11. Verse 1 begins with, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.” Verses 7, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” And then finally verse 11, “But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” What a statement God makes in verse 1. He does not want us to be ignorant regarding the gifts of the Spirit. Then, you’ll notice in both verses 7 and 11 the words ‘every man.’ You are included in the ‘every man.’ These greater manifestations come through us. With that being the case, of course we can’t be ignorant. Bishop has a series available to you on the gifts of the Spirit so you can study along with him. What I want to stress today is that the greater manifestation will begin with you, if you make this part of your study, your devotions, confessions of faith, and prayer. God bless you and thank you for joining us and adding your prayers along with ours.
