DAY 13 - Pray For Boldness in the Body of Christ
Pastor Lee Ferguson
Word of Faith Southfield, MI
Hi. My name is Pastor Lee Ferguson. I’m going to be speaking today on praying for boldness. We are going to read from Acts chapter 4, verse 29 and 30. It reads, “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.” We live in a day and age where we can no longer have a civil conversation, civil discourse, with our fellow neighbor, or our brother and sister. We are in a time where if you disagree with certain points of view, you are often abused – either verbally or even sometimes physically abused. There’s a constant pressure in our day and age to conform to the status quo. If you listen to the news or what goes on social media, there is a pressure. There is an attack against the body of Christ. There is a pressure and an attack against the body of Christ and the message of the Gospel. People no longer want to hear about Jesus. People no longer want to pray. People no longer want to come to church. People no longer want to serve God. They are not interested in anything related to Jesus and what He preached about in His Word. So what does that mean for us as believers? What does that mean for us as followers of Christ? We are in a time where we are required to stand up and be the answer to the darkness, to be the solution to the sickness in the world. We are required to stand and be bold. We are required to stand and preach, thus sayeth the Lord. We are required to be the light. We are required to be the solution to the darkness and sickness in this world. The thing you need to remember is, saints, is the closer we get to the end of the age, the darker it is going to be in the world. So we need to pray more than ever before. We need to pray for boldness to be able to stand against the forces of darkness. We need to pray for boldness, not to be afraid of people’s faces – not to be afraid of what people may say and think about us. We are to preach what the Lord has taught us to preach. We are to do it with boldness and not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So my encouragement for you today is if you feel afraid or you are not sure about how to stand and be bold in this day and age, ask God for boldness and He will give you what you need to be able to stand this day and age, to be the voice that is required this day and age. So let’s pray right now for the spirit of boldness to come upon us. Heavenly Father we thank you. We thank you for who you are. We thank you for what you’ve done for us and for your protection over us. Right now, Lord God, during this time of devotion, I pray for everyone that is watching this video. I pray for the spirit of boldness to come upon us so that we are able to stand in these last days and preach your Gospel – to stand against the wiles of the enemy and not be afraid – not be afraid of what people might say – not be afraid of what people may do – and not be afraid of what the enemy may try to do because we know that you are with us and you will never forsake us, oh God. We thank you right now that we can stand in the spirit of boldness, in Jesus name. Amen.
