DAY 11 - Pray for a Great Awakening
Minister Anita Davis
Word of Faith
Welcome today 11 of 30 days of prayer. Today we are going to pray for a great awakening and there are just a few things we need to think about and pray about to see that happen. We are going to start in Ephesians chapter 5, verse 11, “Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness; but instead let your lives be so in contrast as to expose, reprove and convict them. For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that such people practice in secret. But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear. And where everything is visible and clear, there is light. Therefore he says, ‘Awake, O sleeper. Arise from the dead and Christ shall shine. Make day dawn upon you and give you light.’” In the Message version it says, “Wake up from your sleep. Climb out of your coffins. Christ will show you the light.” The first thing we need to pray for is that the body of Christ wakes up and we let go of drama, sin, and everything that hinders us from moving forward with the assignment that God has given us and that is to go out and make disciples. That is what will awaken the world. Now, regarding the world, this is what we want to pray. According to Acts chapter 26 - it says, “To open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” This is what we want to pray for the world at large. We want to pray that God opens their eyes. We want to pray that they turn from darkness to light. We want to pray that in that they receive forgiveness of their sins and they are able to receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. This is what we want to pray for over the whole world. We want to wake up as a church and we want to pray that the world wakes up. But in that, I want to read my final verse which is found in Matthew chapter 9, Verse 37 says, “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” So I want you to know right now that we want to pray that the church rises up, lets go of stuff that is hindering us and moves forward in the mission to save souls for Jesus. Then we want to pray for the world - that their eyes are open, that they understand who God is, that they receive forgiveness of sins and that they receive Him as their personal Lord and Savior. Then we want to pray that there are laborers that go out into the field. When you pray these things, be open because, I’m telling you, He is sending you. Alright you all, let’s get praying.
