Day 06 - Pray For Persecuted Christians
MINISTER MABEL BOSHOFF
WORD OF FAITH SOUTHFIELD. MI
Today, we are praying for the persecuted Christians. It has been said, and it may be surprising, but the persecution of Christians around the world is one of the biggest human rights issues of this era. The top five world watch list countries are North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, and Pakistan.
Why are Christians persecuted? The answer is found in John, chapter 10, verse 10. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and to destroy. But God has come that we might have life and have it more abundantly. There is a real enemy and his name is Satan. He will use anyone and anything. We see this with some governments that see Christians as a threat, and extremist groups that are out to destroy Christians. In the top 50 world watch list countries alone, 245 million Christians in the world experience high levels of persecution for their choice to follow Christ.
One out of nine Christians, worldwide, experiences high levels of persecution; and you and I— we can change this through prayer. God cannot do anything in the earth unless His people pray. So today, let’s pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ facing physical persecution to be released from prison. May their lives be spared. We pray that they find open doors of escape; and may they have supernatural favor and provision wherever they go. We plead the blood over them in Jesus’ name. And as always, Jesus is Lord over all the world.
