Today we are going to pray for promotion. How is that? You might want to be promoted on a job, or you are single and you want to be promoted to being a spouse, or maybe, you are serving in your church and you want to take on a bigger role and be promoted in the things of God. In Psalm 75, versus 6 and 7, it says, “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” Well, that is good news. Our success isn’t in man, but it is in God. He blesses us and He promotes us. So today I want to encourage you to pray in the Spirit and pray that you know God’s voice clearly, so that you are led by Him. In the eighth chapter of Romans, it talks about the sons of God are led by the Spirit of God. See, everybody wants to be promoted. One key part of being promoted or promotion is placement. It is vital to be in the right place at the right time. In the Old Testament, it talks about how there was a drought in the land for a few years and the Lord had Elijah to go east where there was a brook for him that He gave him water. Well, God provided for Elijah at a certain place. See, our obedience leads to God’s provision. It’s important that for everything we do, we are led by God, even if it doesn’t seem to make any sense. We are to trust God and to follow Him. That leads to our promotion. It’s okay to value our experience or our expertise, but it cannot have a bigger place than God’s Word. We have to trust the Lord with all of our heart. So be encouraged by knowing that God has your promotion and pray that you will be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit of God so that you are always in the right place, at the right time to receive what God has in store for you.
